Instructor Emilia started Taekwondo when she was 4 years old, and continued her journey receiving her 1st degree black belt at the age of 7.

After taking a break from the sport, she joined KTI, shortly after she became a “Junior Instructor” and later was promoted to Instructor after testing for her 2nd degree black belt.

Being an Instructor has shown her the importance of being able to help others using the knowledge you have. Instructor Emilia believes that Taekwondo not only improves the body and the mind, but helps build confidence and discipline.

“Everyone makes progress at their own rate, continue on your journey and keep challenging yourself!”

Instructor Manny Roman is a second-degree black belt instructor.

Instructor Manny Roman is a second-degree black belt instructor at Kim’s Taekwondo Institute (KTI) in Fontana.

He started Taekwondo (TKD) at the age of 12 under the supervision of Master Nick. His parents thought that TKD would help him instill lifelong disciplinary skills while assisting him to break out of his shell (shyness). Ironically, during his second day of class he injured his foot and was unable to practice for about a month.

However, he was determined to continue and eventually started his teaching journey as a Jr. instructor when he was blue belt.

Years later instructor Manny was promoted to Instructor in 2018 when he earned his first-degree black belt. Instructor Manny’s self-confidence skyrocketed because of KTI.

Instructor Manny loves the opportunity to teach and train with KTI members. He believes that there is always something one can improve upon and he encourages all new and seasoned KTI members to try their best and to have a good spirit & energy during practice sessions.

Instructor Manny is currently studying business at Chaffey Community College and he has a goal to one day start his own TKD school.
